account_balance BA II Plus Financial Calculator

Advanced financial calculations.

Time value of money, NPV, and IRR — with the same CPT workflow as a real BA II Plus.

Enter a value, then tap a TVM key to store it. Tap CPT, then a TVM key, to compute that variable from the other four. For NPV/IRR, type comma-separated cash flows, e.g. -1000,300,300,300,300, then press NPV or IRR. I/Y is a nominal annual rate — set P/Y and C/Y above for monthly/quarterly problems, and check BGN for annuity-due payments.

P/Y, C/Y & BGN Mode
Handles monthly/quarterly payment schedules and annuity-due (BGN) problems, just like a real financial calculator.

How to use this calculator

  1. Type a number, then press N, I/Y, PV, PMT, or FV to store it in that register.
  2. Once four of the five are stored, press CPT then the key you want solved for.
  3. Set P/Y (payments per year) and C/Y (compounding periods per year) for problems where you're quoted an annual rate but pay monthly or quarterly — I/Y is always the nominal annual rate. Check BGN if payments occur at the start of each period (annuity due) instead of the end.
  4. Use CLR TVM to reset all five registers to zero, or C to clear the current entry.
  5. Press CF to start a fresh cash flow entry, type comma-separated cash flows (e.g. -1000,300,300,300,300), then press NPV or IRR.

This BA II Plus style calculator uses the same cash-flow sign convention as the real device: money paid out (like a loan given or an initial investment) is entered as negative, and money received is entered as positive.

Frequently Asked Questions

N is the number of periods, I/Y is the nominal annual interest rate, PV is present value, PMT is the payment per period, and FV is future value. Store four of the five, then press CPT plus the fifth key to solve for it.
BGN mode treats payments as occurring at the start of each period (an annuity due) instead of the end (the default, ordinary annuity), matching the real BA II Plus's 2ND SET BGN/END toggle.
